The Entertainer
What does a performer without an audience do? This has been the central theme of a work that was initially devised to reference the magic of past entertainers that have graced the stage. Now in a time when the entertainers role seems in question, yet more necessary than ever before, looking back to past entertainers who brought relief to their audiences through escapism and humor becomes a whole new exploration for the role of art as relief.
the sea of my tomorrows
A new work graciously supported by the Dancing on the Edge Festivals Covid Commission Grant and the King’s Theatre. The sea of my tomorrows is a new contemporary dance piece created with dancers from the Pacific Coast and Atlantic Coast, taking its inspiration from these distant seascapes coming together to narrate an onerous journey across the water. This piece is ignited by the body’s capacity to hold and translate memories through water and the emotional and psychological role water plays in our lives.
