Multi award winning siblings The Gilberts are a Nova Scotia folk trio bringing soulful lyrics, memorable melodies, close three part harmonies and Celtic, choral and contemporary influences to their performances and recordings.
‘Winterludes’ is their touring show featuring original music along with songs evoking the magic and mystery of the winter season by artists including Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Rankin, Gordon Lightfoot, and Ron Sexsmith.
Frieden, Reuben and Maisie emigrated from the UK to Canada when they were knee-high to a grasshopper settling in rural Nova Scotia where one Christmas morning they found three ukuleles under the tree. It was the beginning of a musical journey that has already seen them garner East Coast Music, Canadian Folk Music, and Music Nova Scotia awards.
