Join us for a Live at Lunch event with the Behrooz Mihankhah Ensemble and special guest Alison Enriquez.
Presented by the HALIFAX JAZZ FEST
HJF is taking to the road this winter as part of our Community Series initiative, bring world-class jazz beyond HRM into communities across Nova Scotia and we are delighted to be coming to the Kings Theatre Live At Lunch Series with ECMA-nominated pianist Behrooz Mihankhah and his ensemble.
Behrooz Mihankhah is an Iranian Canadian composer, pianist, and singer-songwriter based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Behrooz fuses various musical traditions, compositional techniques, and improvisational schools of thought and brings together listeners of various backgrounds.
Performing mostly original music, he has toured internationally throughout New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Rajasthan, Mumbai, and locally throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
His most recent project, a full-length debut jazz album “Lydium”, includes his original compositions and arrangments of several jazz classics, and classical compositions with a blend of both western and Iranian instruments.
This performance is supported through support of the Government of Canada “Commemorate Canada Fund” and is free to attend.
