Both a love letter and an uncompromising critique of the city of Moncton, Overlap is author Céleste Godin’s first full-length play. Created in a language that is at once personal, dense with insight, and bursting with humanity.
Staged as a tragic chorus, passionately performed by five actors, Overlap equally portrays the city as unsympathetic foe and enlightening muse. Through the contorted and tense bodies found on stage, our region’s nobility is revealed alongside its difficulties. The friction of our overlapping lives ignites an incandescent spark.
Funny, sexy, and clever, it’s a truly bilingual experience, as accessible to Anglophones as it is to Francophones.
Founded in 2009 by Marc-André Charron and Mathieu Chouinard, two Canadian actors who met at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris, Satellite Théâtre has produced many of their own works along with several collaborations and co-productions with Caraquet’s Théâtre populaire d’Acadie. The company thrives on collaboration and has worked with actors, dancers, puppeteers and acrobats from around the world. And outside of regular performances in Canada, Satellite Théâtre has also toured and performed their work in Japan, Africa and Mexico.
King’s Theatre is committed to making live performances accessible to all audiences. If cost is a barrier please contact our Box Office for Bursary Tickets: [email protected] or 902-532-7704.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian when attending a King’s Theatre event.
