This mixed program will showcase excerpts from major classical ballets such as Romeo & Juliet, The Nutcracker, our smash hit Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet, along with exciting new contemporary works by Canadian choreographers. Creation for some of these new works began during Covid lockdowns with the dancers and choreographers working virtually over video calls from their homes, others were created in our dance studios under a variety of Covid regulations. You will see the creativity, dedication and artistry that has gone into each creation by Ballet Jörgen’s extraordinary artists.
Canada’s preeminent touring ballet company, Ballet Jörgen travels coast to coast each season performing a vibrant repertoire of full-length ballets and shorter contemporary works. Known for the warmth and beauty of its productions, Ballet Jörgen aims to make ballet accessible and relevant to 21st century audiences. We like to tell Canadian stories and always reflect a Canadian identity in our programming. Ballet Jörgen is also proud to support the development of Canadian choreographers and since its inception, has danced new works created exclusively for the Company.
King’s Theatre is committed to making live performances accessible to all audiences. If cost is a barrier please contact our Box Office for Bursary Tickets: boxoffice@kingstheatre.ca or 902-532-7704.
