A former librarian, Frances Anderson has been enchanted by lichens for 20 years. She and colleague Troy McMullin (Museum of Nature, Ottawa) co-authored Common Lichens of Northeastern North America (NYBG Press 2014), one of the few lichen field guides on the continent. She spends most of her time in her lichen lab or hunting lichens in the many wonderful lichen habitats Nova Scotia has to offer.
