CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF CUBAN MUSIC!
Join Los Primos for the 25 year anniversary celebration this year of traditional Cuban music reinvented with a juxtaposition of musical genres they call “Fision”. Performed by some of the main players in the Los Primos project over the years, young and old together to take Cuban music in a new direction.
Founded in 1998 when the first group of Cuban music students came to Nova Scotia to take part in the Acadia Jazz Camp, play at the Atlantic Jazz Festival and tour around Nova Scotia. Since then the project has created a close relationship between musicians in Cuba and Nova Scotia and helped make Cuba the number one sun destination of Canadians.
Cuban music is the nucleus of this show but elements of rock, jazz, classical, folk and celtic music bombard these familiar tunes producing a reaction that will bring fans of all musical genres to their feet.
Augusto Enriquez: voice
Jeff Goodspeed: sax/flute/keyboards
Ali Enriquez: voice/violin/keyboards
Silvio Pupo: piano/voice
