Terra Spencer is “the real deal.” — Ron Sexsmith
Raised on the mud banks of the Avon River, award-winning Nova Scotian songwriter Terra Spencer has won over audiences in Canada, the UK, and Germany since her 2018 debut. She has crafted a catalogue of startlingly intimate songs, marrying fingerstyle guitar, gospel piano, and her butterscotch voice with sly humour and 70s wood-paneled warmth. Terra recently released her third album, Old News, created with Ben Caplan and celebrated with a cross-Canada and UK tour, and will join David Francey in 2023 for his upcoming album release tour. In a room of 5 or 500, every show is a knee-to-knee conversation with a natural storyteller.

With Old News, “Spencer has outdone her previous gem, 2020’s multiple award-winner Chasing Rabbits, her songwriting even more outstanding. One beauty follows another, no two are alike musically or thematically. She has a wonderful perspective on people, a huge tenderness, and seemingly limitless empathy. Yes, it’s sentimental as all get out, filled with old people, old dogs, old teachers, and lovers parting as friends, but the songs will melt the hardest hearts.” – Bob Mersereau, Top 100 Canadian Singles

“I don’t think I am exaggerating when I say that Terra Spencer’s intimate performance took our collective breath away. It let us set aside any challenges we might be experiencing and we were swept away with her stories, her exquisite voice, her subtle sense of humour and her grace as a performer.” –– Susan Gesner, concert presenter
