NICHOLAS HERRING is as a carpenter from Murray Harbour, PEI, whose debut novel, Some Hellish, won the $60,000 Atwood Gibson Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize in 2022. “What Cormac McCarthy did for cowboys and horses, Nicholas Herring does for fishermen and boats in his novel Some Hellish … There is a dark beauty within this story, and it will make the reader’s heart sing.” –Jury Citation
