Artists from two coasts worked together to create this solo which had its World Premiere in 2016. Danced by Halifax-based artist Jacinte Armstrong and choreographed by British Columbia-based Sarah Chase the result is poetic, mathematical, and hypnotic.
Exit
This modern dance classic which premiered in Toronto in 1987 was choreographed by Peter Randazzo and FODAR Artistic Director Randy Glynn. A celebrated dancer and choreographer, Peter Randazzo was one of the three co-founders of the legendary Toronto Dance Theatre. The duet is set on the haunting music of blues great John Hammond and is danced by Glynn and acclaimed dance artist Olivier Coëffard, formerly with Nederlands Dans Theater.
Kid Sister
An audience favourite from 2022, Rock Bottom Movement returns to FODAR with a new work that choreographer Alyssa Martin describes as what happens when life's magic and inevitable grief collide, “I’ve had this feeling my entire life, and together with the dancers, we made a dance. This piece is dedicated to you, your angels, and my kid sister.” A World Premiere.
