Elevate is a hyper-tufa, living sculpture made up of nine columns. The rustic nature of hyper-tufa evokes a sense of wabi sabi combined with the living plants. The title refers to the way in which plants can elevate one's mood or spirit while at the same time the individual columns elevate from one level to the next in an architectural three dimensional checkerboard pattern.
OpenSpace exhibitions are installed outdoors on the ARTSPLACE grounds and open to viewing at all hours.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Rachel Reeve, an interdisciplinary visual artist based in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley has exhibited in Canada, Japan and the U.S. Reeve received her BFA (Interdisciplinary) from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. The experience of living and working in Japan in the early 2000's continues to influence her work.
