ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Rachel Reeve is an interdisciplinary visual artist based in Nova Scotia. Her practice includes drawing, printmaking, installation, and design using re-purposed materials. She has exhibited in Canada, the USA, and Japan.
Most recently Rachel has honed her skills in Gyotaku. The experience of living and working in Japan in the early 2000's continues to influence her art and daily life. The reverence for nature in Japanese art and culture appeals to her interest in human connections with the natural world. The process of gyotaku allows her to combine her interest in printmaking with her interest in nature. Primarily working in art education for fifteen years, in 2018 she began a full-time studio practice.
