The Randall House Museum will be putting together an open mic folk music event, where local musicians can sign up to volunteer and perform some Nova Scotian music. This musical event is meant to embrace and celebrate Nova Scotia’s extensive folklore and musical history, especially the tunes that were collected by Nova Scotian folklorists Carrie Grover and Helen Creighton.

The songs that will be performed do not have to be ones collected by Grover or Creighton, but their collections are a fantastic place to start looking. Each performer is encouraged to prepare 2 pieces to perform with any instruments they choose. All proceeds from the event will go towards keeping the Randall House Museum open as long as possible. If you are interested in volunteering to perform at the event, contact Nic Leighton from the Randall House Museum at [email protected]
