A dramatization of the life story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who has a large hand in the development of the atomic bomb, thus helping end World War 2. We see his life from university days all the way to post-WW2, where his fame sees him embroiled in political machinations.
This event will be accompanied by a pre-show talk starting at 6:30pm “Oppenheimer: The Theoretical Physicist” with Acadia physics professor Dr. Ruben Sandapen.
Dr. Ruben Sandapen holds a PhD in theoretical particle physics from the University of Manchester, UK. His research focuses on Quantum Chromodynamics. In his talk, he will highlight the remarkable scientific contributions of J. Robert Oppenheimer, from predicting the existence of black holes to harnessing the power of nuclear fission.
