Sarah McInnis
Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sarah McInnis, of Peterborough, Ontario, is a storyteller, writing meaningful, personal, and relatable lyrics through which audience members can connect. Sarah’s songs come from having to travel to the raw, twisted centers of insecurity, vulnerability, shame, and grief, to hold them gently, illuminate, forgive, and thank them. With warm vocals and guitar in hand, Sarah has the ability to change the feeling in the room, giving listener’s honest, true, and personal stories that remind them that they are not alone in the serious, silly, and serendipitous parts of life.
In 2023, six years after her debut EP, Farmer, Coal Miner, Sarah released Threads, 8 original songs based on the stories of 8 Atlantic Canadians - 4 at end-of-life, 4 who have lost loved ones. The album features a host of talented Atlantic-based artists and is accompanied by a short documentary that saw Sarah travelling the Atlantic provinces to gather stories of love and heartbreak. Through this project Sarah shows that in life and death, music connects us all.

Valmy is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who’s been following the ocean and making home on the East Coast. Exploring the complexities of relationship, loss, and healing, she uses her folk-influenced music to tell stories about loving and stumbling your way through the dark. Now based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Valmy creates and performs from a place of honesty and wonder by weaving melodic swells and atmospheric harmonies with her contemplative writing. Valmy independently released her debut full-length album, ‘The In Between’, in September 2023. This collection of songs, half which were written during her time living in Wolfville, was given new life through original arrangements, and received warmly by listeners.Valmy received MusicNL 2023 nominations for Rising Star and Folk Artist of the Year, is an ECMA 2024 nominee, and is looking forward to connecting with Maritime audiences during her upcoming Autumn 2024 tour. The opportunity to return to the Valley where her songwriting voice was nurtured, to share the stage with dear friend and musical companion, Sarah McInnis, is one of the highlights of her spring.
