Description:
Though the word Elemental basically means simple and uncomplicated it provides a wide choice of avenues to explore. Elemental covers areas such as the four elements of nature: earth, water, air, fire; the forces of nature; Human emotions; the first principle or the simplest and most basic facts about a subject or activity; chemical elements; basic daily routines; fundamental family relationships; the passage of time; etc.
We are two painters, Nadine Belliveau and Sherry Caldwell, who both work in acrylics; and we are three fibre artists, Grace Butland creates wall hangings from her eco printed fabrics, Diane Clapp who creates hangings from plant dyed fabrics and from woven plant dyed threads, and Penny Berens who creates embroideries using plant dyed fabrics and embroidery threads.
