Observational Drawing with Curtis Botham

DESCRIPTION:
Introduction to beginner/intermediate observational drawing techniques, including gesture drawing.
With award-winning artist Curtis Botham, known for his large-scale charcoal drawings.

YOU WILL LEARN:
- Shading and tone
- How to use different pencils
- Blind contour
- Line weight
- Sight/finger measuring techniques
- Making gradients
- Separating objects using dark or light
- Capturing the light with tone
- Light direction

MATERIALS PROVIDED:
- Drawing paper
- 3 pencils (one each: 2B, 4B, 6B)
- Kneadable eraser

WHAT TO BRING:
- Lunch/snacks. There will be coffee/tea available.
- (Optional) If you have your own sketchbooks, additional paper, pencils, kneadable erasers, etc., feel free to bring them along.
