Workshop / Class All Ages

This Intermediate birding course will focus on improving your birding skills, especially by listening to birds. While there are now applications for phones that will let you identify birds, these are not foolproof, and they don’t count birds, so learning to tell apart birds by ear is still a useful skill. This course will help towards a better understanding of sound, describing and categorizing bird songs and learning tips and tricks that will help you solve vocal mysteries in your backyard or on any of your birding adventures.
WEEKEND OUTLINE
Saturday, May 2
4 pm to 6 pm: presentation on birding
6 pm to 7 pm: dinner at Ross Creek (option to order from Ross Creek)
7 pm to dusk: We will go out in the field to ID birds
Sunday, May 3
7 am to 10 am: We will practice our birding skills again in the field.
10 to 10:45: breakfast (option to order from Ross Creek)
Meeting point: Ross Creek Centre for the Arts (555 Ross Creek Rd, Kings, Subd. B)
