Join mycologists Drs. Allison Walker & Keith Egger for a fun-filled workshop on fungal biodiversity and ecology. This hands-on day will introduce you to the different Nova Scotian habitats our fungi call home, and introduce you to tips and resources for identifying our fungal friends and foes.

Meeting point: Ross Creek Centre for the Arts, 555 Ross Creek Rd, Kings, Subd. B
Meeting time: 10 am Finish Time: 4:00 pm
What to bring: Wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for outdoor collecting of mushrooms, including the possible need for rain gear. If you have a mushroom field guide and/or a hand lens, feel free to bring them along.
You can bring your own lunch or you can pre-order a lunch from Ross Creek ($18.00 pp) by clicking this link.

– Fungal terminology cheat sheet
– Common fungi of this region
– Materials for making spore prints
– Microscopes- Fungal field guides and identification resources, loaned for the day
