Ross Creek Centre For The Arts Presents Its Final Instalment In Their Fall Adult Art Programs On November 16.
REGISTRATION BY THURSDAY NOVEMBER 13 at NOON ESSENTIAL FOR MATERIALS AND LUNCH!
Adult Art Sundays presents Jewellery with Shannon Richardson on November 16 at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts. Class runs from 10-4pm and includes a gourmet lunch with the artists made from fresh local ingredients. Cost is $75.00 plus materials and HST.
In this workshop students will be introduced to jewellery techniques such as chain making and cold connections (connections requiring no heat or solder). Students will learn how to cut and shape chain, join metal and other materials together using cold joining methods, and even set a stone without heat! The day will begin with samples of various techniques, followed by ample time to explore your new skills and create unique jewellery pieces. No experience necessary. Students are encouraged to bring an assortment of materials they would like to experiment with; examples would be photographs, fabric, wood, and plastic.
Shannon Richardson studied Jewellery/Metal Arts at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD), and holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts from the University of New Brunswick/NBCCD. Upon her graduation in 2004, she was employed as a production bench jeweler, where she picked up many tricks of the trade before starting her own jewellery company, Formation Silverworks, in 2006. Shannon loves working with metal and exploring new techniques in her studio in Kingston, NS.
