Come get prepared for art school! Friday and Sunday at Ross Creek, you can improve your skills and if you are ready, get an on–the–spot acceptance to NSCAD (students looking to go to other schools can also take part)! This fun and intensive workshop led by taught by NSCAD Foundation Year chair Gene Daniels is designed to assist emerging artists who are preparing for art school application. The timing and instructor also means that students accepted to NSCAD will be eligible for entrance scholarships. Click here to find out more about the scholarship program.
The preparation for entrance to a post secondary program can be a lonely and nerve-wracking experience for any artist. The visual arts workshop will help you gain confidence, learn from peers and receive valuable feedback on your chosen material.
Participants should attach an arts resume (for any projects or programs they have previously done), a brief description of what you hope to achieve through the workshop, and if you are planning on applying to art school.
Held here at Ross Creek, the workshops will provide both individual and group instruction to participants as well as meals and accommodations for the workshop period. Return transportation will be provided by Ross Creek’s shuttle bus from downtown Halifax for $25 plus HST each way.
