By Calgary's David van Belle, Liberation Days is that rare dramatization of nations at war that neither glorifies battle nor simplifies its aftermath. It is, rather, the depiction of how war tests an individual’s capacity for trust, hope and forgiveness. While the Liberation of Holland is justly celebrated as a major accomplishment of Canada’s armed forces, Liberation Days focuses on the individual challenges faced by civilians and soldiers in the peace that follows- none of them simple. Many Dutch citizens choose to emigrate to the Valley in the months that followed the end of WW2, and their descendants own many of the farms one passes on the way to our theatre. Their choice to become Canadians helped shape our nation.

Liberation Days opens Two Planks and a Passion's 25th season.
