Our 2018 season includes North Mountain Vanya, a new adaptation of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya by Ken Schwartz (following his adaptations of Lysistrata, and Dustbowl Joan with Allen Cole, and co-writing Nothing Less with Ami McKay), re-imagining one of the great tragicomedies on the North Mountain where city and rural dwellers try, as best they can, to understand each other.

In repertory with North Mountain Vanya is a new musical adaptation of George Orwell's Animal Farm, a timeless allegory set around the bonfire on our own farm. Created by Allen Cole and Schwartz, our Animal Farm, will be unlike any seen before. We are thrilled to welcome award-winning composer and musical director Allen Cole back to the company to co-create this adaptation of one on the 20th century's great literary masterpieces.

Rounding out our 27th season is the world premiere of Elapultiek by shalan joudry. Presented around our fireside stage, the play focuses on the growing relationship between an indigenous and non-indigenous biologist as they conduct a daily wildlife count. As their relationship grows, so too do areas of potential conflict, as their differing perspectives on land, resources and history come to the fore. A microcosm of the journey that lies ahead for many Canadians, Elapultiek is a unique artistic experience about reconciliation, relationships and trust.

When you arrive, check in at our box office and then play a round of croquet or bocce ball while sipping your cider on our beautiful grounds before the show.
