GRAMMY Award-winning musician and producer Daniel Lanois returns to the East Coast this fall, announcing performances at Devour! Studios in Wolfville on Friday, Oct. 9, and at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax on Saturday, Oct. 10.
It all started on the outskirts of Berlin in a small chapel, 3-part harmony with his mates Jermaine Holmes on drums and vocals, the mighty Jim Wilson on bass and vocals, Lanois on guitar and vocals. The chapel acoustics were such that the vocals sounded beautiful, so they chose to keep their instruments quiet and let the vocals fill the night. This dynamic configuration went on to tour to hone this new trio formation.
"The more I travel, the more it all bleeds together, record making, radio, Internet, tv, festivals, life itself and of course SINGING," said Lanois. "The original instrument, that being the voice, is alive and well in this trio configuration."
A native of Ontario, Lanois was appointed to the Order of Canada and has received seven GRAMMY Awards for his work with the likes of U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and more.
This show has reserved seating and is restricted to ages 19+, valid ID is required for entry.
