Rene Cottreau Archaeological digs at L"Anse aux Meadows.
Abstract: Archaeology of L’anse aux Meadows will be a presentation of the many different branches of archaeological science being applied to the examination of Viking ruins at the northern edge of Newfoundland. A particular focus will be given to the archaeological dating done on the site by digs in 2018 and 2021.
Biography: Rene Cottreau is an undergraduate student in the history department at Acadia University. His focus is agricultural history, irrigation technology, and eco-history. He previously spent three years studying archaeology at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Every week, we invite ALL members and members of our local community to join us for a free, casual ALLways Learning Series (formerly Lunchtime Learning Series). We cover topics both big and small in scope, from local to international, and from arts to sciences. We aim to offer lively talks, from engaging speakers, that anyone in the audience can enjoy. No registration is required.
