(Presented by the Associated Alumni of Acadia University)

This concert offers two of the most beautiful quintets for piano and strings in the classical chamber music repertoire: Robert Schumann’s Quintet Opus 44 and Franz Schubert’s famous “Trout” Quintet. They will be performed by well-known Halifax pianist, composer and conductor Peter Allen with The Blue Engine String Quartet plus Lena Turofsky, bass, joining three Blue Engine members for “The Trout”.

Members of Blue Engine are: Anne Simons and Jennifer Jones, violins, Margot Aldrich, viola, and Hilary Brown, cello. All five strings are regular members of Symphony Nova Scotia.
