Abstract: We hear a lot about Data Analytics, Big Data and Data Mining in the news. But how does this this apply to new start-ups and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs). In session Danny will clarify these terms and provide a sense of the Data Mining process for SMEs who may be considering data analytic projects. He will cover the basics about Data Collection, Data Preparation, and Data Visualization and provide an overview of how Data Mining methods work to develop predictive models. Wes will be talking about lean methodology, more specifically how data analytics has played an important role in growing startup businesses today and how this can translate into more traditional businesses.
