The community of Beechville, Nova Scotia was founded by Black refugees in the years following the War of 1812. Recent archival research and archaeological investigations have identified the location of a number of archaeological features related to the habitations and activity of the first settlers to the area. This talk will discuss the recent research and future plans for the project.
