Caregiver burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that affects those who are caring for a dependant. It may be accompanied by a change in attitude—from positive and caring to negative and unconcerned. As Nova Scotia’s population continues to age and more individuals find themselves in the role of family caregiver, caregiver burnout is predictably a growing phenomenon. Join Joel Stoddart from Careforce as he explains the causes and symptoms of caregiver burnout as well as the strategies that can be used to keep it at bay.
