In honour of Black History Month, Dr. Michelle Boyd of the Acadia School of Music will talk about her historical research into the life of Louis Casseres, a Spanish-African Pianist active in Halifax in the mid-nineteenth century. Although he was only ever referred to there as "Spanish," she has discovered he was involved with abolitionist groups in Halifax.
The talk is presented by the Department of History & Classics.
