Shattering the Silence Concert 5.
Mezzo-soprano Rosemary MacPhee and pianist Heather Price present American composer William Bolcom’s song cycle “I Will Breathe A Mountain.” This work was commissioned by the Carnegie Corporation for Marilyn Horne in 1991. Dr. Wanda Campbell who teaches creative writing at Acadia University will give introductory remarks on the eleven poets whose texts generated Bolcom’s composition. Selections and program will be announced from stage. Program is approximately 30 minutes.
