Join us for visiting guest speaker Dr. Gavin Fridell on Broken Trade: Making the Shift to a Fair Trade World. Gavin Fridell is a Canada Research Chair in International Development Studies at Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, and a member of the Advisory Council of the Canadian Fair Trade Network. He has published three books and numerous articles on fair trade and free trade, drawing on research on coffee in Mexico and fruit in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He holds a PhD in Political Science from York University and, in 2015, was inducted as a member of the College of New Scholars of the Royal Society of Canada. Refreshments to follow. This event is presented by the Acadia Sustainability Office, Just Us! and Chartwells as part of Fair Trade Week at Acadia.
