Presented as part of the Sisters On Screen Film Festival, "Mozart's Sister" is based on the real life story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's elder sister.

Known as "Nannerl", Maria Anna was an exceptional musician who aspired to compose, but for a young woman of her talents, to be born in 18th-century Europe was the right place at the wrong time.

The Sisters On Screen Film Festival is a class project organized by the students of MUSI 4283 (Women in Music). Each of the three films (Nov. 13, 14 & 15) will begin with a pre-screening talk. All donations raised will be put toward a scholarship to support a young girl's music education.

This event is sponsored by the Acadia School of Music, the Acadia Women's & Gender Studies Program, and the College Music Society.
