A new Canadian Jazz trio starts its life here in the Maritimes bringing drummer Mark Adam, bassist Chris Jennings and saxophonist Mike Murley together. As creative musical leaders in their respective communities Mark, Chris and Mike have played together in various groups for over fifteen years. Audiences are guaranteed to hear some of the best Jazz this country has to offer as these three join forces.
Chris Jennings and Mark Adam grew up playing Jazz in Calgary, Alberta and were one of the city’s core rhythm sections in the 1990’s. They never missed an opportunity to see Mike Murley perform with his quintet and soon moved their studies and careers to Toronto where they continued to establish their distinctive playing styles supporting many of Canada’s great Jazz artists. Musical communities being very small they were soon playing with Mike in various hotspots around Toronto but at the turn of the millennium both Jennings and Adam relocated their careers, Chris to Paris and Mark to the Maritimes. This trio marks the reigniting of a special musical collaboration with a true Canadian Jazz icon, Mike Murley.
This is music you will hear about so why not come and hear it for yourself.
