The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is an employer-driven path to Permanent Residency aimed to help remedy the labour market needs of employers in the Atlantic provinces. With increasing impacts of climate change happening worldwide, and with populations increasingly on the move, Nova Scotia presents an attractive destination for those affected. Employers now have the chance to be champions of not only their communities but also to newcomers hoping to make a new life here in the Valley. The Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia helps employers to facilitate the hiring and retention of foreign nationals for the benefit of all concerned.
Presenter: James Rumble
After spending over 17 years (1999-2017) living and working in Japan, my wife Koto and I decided to make the Annapolis Valley our home. Having been an English teacher, curriculum designer and business owner in Japan as well as having lived through earthquakes, tsunami and a nuclear meltdown, the experiences have given me a unique perspective on both life as a stranger in a strange land as well as the challenges that some of Nova Scotia's newcomers have faced or are facing.
