Shelley Thompson and the Blue Engine String Quartet: Seasonal stories scored by composer Chris Palmer, as originally heard on CBC's National Christmas Eve Broadcast.

Bowls of Cheer is set on a family farm in Nova Scotia at the turn of the last century and is based on a true story. The magic of searching for just the right gift is at the centre of this piece — but so is family miscommunication. This story is full of fun and the joy of giving.
