Abstract: What was it like to live in a poor house in Nova Scotia in the 1800s? How did you survive? What would you eat? How would you be treated? What happens if you die in a poor house?
Researcher and author, Brenda J Thompson, answers some of those questions in her presentation How to Live in a Poor House in Nova Scotia. Brenda will be focusing on the Kings' County poor houses, sharing her research and photos of life in a poor house.
